Arton PE discontinues support for SPD-3.3 and SPD-3.5 due to changes in regulatory requirements and obsolescence of the element base

19/05/2025

Arton Enterprise officially announces the termination of technical support for combined fire detectors SPD-3.3 and SPD-3.5. This decision was made due to two key factors:

1️⃣ Change in the regulatory framework.
Previously, these models met the requirements of two parts of the DSTU EN 54 standard – part 5 (heat detectors) and part 7 (smoke detectors). However, according to updated European standards, from now on, such combined devices must comply with the new – part 29 of the standard:
“DSTU EN 54-29: Multi-sensor fire detectors – Point detectors using a combination of smoke and heat sensors”.
This makes it impossible to further certify and implement the SPD-3.3 and SPD-3.5 models in modern systems.

2️⃣ Moral and technical obsolescence.
Both models were developed over ten years ago. Today, their component base is considered outdated, which complicates maintenance and ensuring stable operation in accordance with modern requirements. In this regard, the company does not see the feasibility of further production or updating these models.

❗️PP “Arton” recommends replacing the specified devices with modern multi-sensor analogues that meet the current standards of DSTU EN 54-29.
Please take this into account when designing. The new product will appear soon.
